MODEL BROTHER

Thanks to my handsome and talented brother, Josh, for modeling the WT dude wears ! Our family had a great few days together - I was sad to see he and Shannon go. Check out the update - he looks great !

CATHY COOPER: ON THE WITCHY SIDE

I've been following Jeana Sohn's blog and work for a few years and my absolute favorite project of hers is CLOSET VISIT. It's always inspiring. Especially her latest - stylist Cathy Cooper's closet. What first struck me is Cathy's AMAZING gray mane. I've often daydreamed of long, thick, gray hair as an older woman - it looks spectacular on her. She is definitely a new style idol in all of her tomboyish femininity.

I've had trouble putting together my wish book this year. I don't know what I really want all that badly and I don't feel like I NEED anything - so I just started pulling together fun things, things I think about from time to time, but never buy for myself... That seemed like a good idea.

This list however, is to inspire those of you that are still looking for the perfect gift. My FAVORITE whiskey and vodka, the MOST delicious cookies I've sampled (and resampled), a few other objects I've taken a liking to + a tote to carry it all home in !

I hope everyone is making merry these last couple weeks before the holiday ! x

BLACK DOG SALVAGE +

On Friday, in between thrift stores, I went to Black Dog Salvage in Roanoke. Pile upon pile and room after room of salvaged architectural wares, antiques, and treasures. These photos don't do it justice. I wish I had something to remodel...

While thrifting I found the shop glassware, silk, and denim. For me - a soft wool/rabbit sweater, those sweet suede ankle boots, and cupcakes. :) I also tried on a vintage 1940's wool tuxedo jacket (sorry, no photo) - it was a little big, but now I definitely want to add one to my wardrobe.

Ps. I'm still in disbelief that it's December. Where did this year go ? Anyone ?

SKINNY LOVE

Sharing some recent photo inspiration curated by R. MAJEWSKI and serenaded by the beautiful Bon Iver. Has anyone heard this cover of Skinny Love? I love the innocence and strength of her voice.

Lastly, I spent the day traipsing about Roanoke, VA - thrifting, salvaging, and trying on vintage wears at a lovely consignment shop. I'll share more next week. Until then, have a great weekend. x

COOKIE PARTY !

Today I baked Grandma Ruth's sugar cookies. It took me all afternoon to bake one batch... :-/ I used a new (to me) flour from a local mill and the consistency was VERY different than what I was used to. I powered through however and they taste delicious (of course!).

Today I scored the most beautiful rabbit fur coat for $20 ! I've been looking/hoping for this coat for the last year and a half. Seriously.

It inspired this little set of "favorite things I am currently hoping for"... : )  (I'm especially hoping GAP will bring back the 1969 Destructed Easy Straight jean. They are my favorite pair and the holes have grown significantly.)

CABIN FEVER

I don't have cabin fever in the traditional sense. I have the - "I wanna steal away to our little cabin in the woods (above), get snowed in, build fires, stomp through the woods, read, watch movies, make Grandma's chili with mashed potatoes, and hide-away from everything" kind of cabin fever. 

SO, today I spent a little time looking at Cabin Porn. For those who love backwoods living - or at least the idea of it - this site will definitely inspire. I was reminded of my personal favorite, Oswald's Mill. One day...

THANKFUL FOR YOU !

Hoping everyone has a wonderful day enjoying friends, family, and lots of good food - remembering all there is to be thankful for this year. I'm thankful to all of you who follow WT, my Etsy buyers, and so many supportive friends !

These little Pilgrim people have been part of our family's Thanksgiving tradition since I was born ! So yes, they're vintage. : )
