SAAAAAAAAALE !

Hi. It's been a minute... :) but I'm back with great news. I'm running a SALE this week ! I'm moving back to Los Angeles, my home away from home, and to celebrate everything at Wild Together is 20% OFF ! Just enter "LALA20" when making your purchase !

I'm looking forward to getting back to the sun, sand, and mountains, good friends, and all the stuff that makes LA so great to me (I'll blog about those things later this week).

The image (found here) by, Brice Bischoff, is of the Bronson Caves - just up the street from where I used to live in Hollywood.

SAIL by Awol Nation. I love this song.

SHOP UPDATESSS

I'm posting new items today, tomorrow, and everyday next week ! Here's a taste of some of the housewares I've been collecting. Make sure to check back to see what's  WT.

I hope you've had a lovely holiday, indulged a little, and are looking forward to the new year ! I've been thinking a lot about goals/resolutions - for myself, for the shop... I can't wait to see what 2012 brings !

BLACK DOG SALVAGE +

On Friday, in between thrift stores, I went to Black Dog Salvage in Roanoke. Pile upon pile and room after room of salvaged architectural wares, antiques, and treasures. These photos don't do it justice. I wish I had something to remodel...

While thrifting I found the shop glassware, silk, and denim. For me - a soft wool/rabbit sweater, those sweet suede ankle boots, and cupcakes. :) I also tried on a vintage 1940's wool tuxedo jacket (sorry, no photo) - it was a little big, but now I definitely want to add one to my wardrobe.

Ps. I'm still in disbelief that it's December. Where did this year go ? Anyone ?

SKINNY LOVE

Sharing some recent photo inspiration curated by R. MAJEWSKI and serenaded by the beautiful Bon Iver. Has anyone heard this cover of Skinny Love? I love the innocence and strength of her voice.

Lastly, I spent the day traipsing about Roanoke, VA - thrifting, salvaging, and trying on vintage wears at a lovely consignment shop. I'll share more next week. Until then, have a great weekend. x

DRESS UP: HIM

A few weeks ago I found him a vintage wool Buffalo flannel jacket - lined and totally rad. (I think I've worn it more than he has at this point...)

So, what else do you get the boy with the great flannel? Eagle money clipgrenade oil lampflag pocket knifewaxed cotton dufflevintage Vasque boots.

Ps. Loving CXXVI's jewelry and accessories.

LET'S HEAR IT FOR THE BOYS !

In the midst of planning, grocery shopping, and baking I've had a couple moments to shop for the shop.

Boys, these coats are for you - perfect for the colder days to come. The top one is corduroy ! How excellent are the collars and the faux fur linings?

THE BLAZERRR

I've been wearing blazers since my sophomore year in college when I found a wine colored corduroy one (photo bottom left !) in my mom's closest. Sadly, last September I lost my favorite wool blazer on a flight overseas... It was vintage 1970s, a perfect camel color, with a long lapel - I wore it all the time (see other 3 photos). I've since adopted a military green wool blazer with faux fur trim as my new favorite. I love a good blazer and yesterday I was SUPER excited to score several beauties for the WT shop !

HOW TO: DATE YOUR LEVI'S JACKET

After I picked up my first Levi's jacket I started researching how to date it. Over the years minor modifications have been made to the design that allow you to easily decipher between one decade of production to another.

When first examining your jacket check out the tag. The first red LEVI'S tag was introduced in 1936. The single sided "Big E" tag indicates that it was made between 1936-1958. The double-sided "Big E" tag indicates that it was made between 1958-1971. After 1971 Levi's was spelled with a little "e". Next look over other details like the buttons, pockets, front pleats, and back cinch.

Here is a quick guide posted in 1996 by LS&Co. when they conducted they're second "Send Them Home Search".
With all WT Levi's merchandise I'll make sure to include as many details as possible for collectors and vintage Levi's lovers alike. This 1960s jacket is currently in the shop and I'll have a couple more gems coming soon !
